Dayton, Ohio haunts her dreams. When She returns, the real nightmare begins. "She" Screenplay by Amy Kreitzer SYNOPSIS: She is an archaeologist from Dayton, Ohio, for whom dreams sometimes hint toward the future. She reluctantly returns to the musical Gem City to attend a family reunion hosted by the transgendered uncle, "Gretchen", whom raised her past age ten. She makes it home for reunion, then faces the ghost(town) of her past. She's prophetic dreams- before she even leaves home for Dayton- quickly lead her on a real archaeological adventure soon after she arrives in town. She's dreams then verge into visions of American society driven to the brink of desperate starvation - just when the socio-political scene in reality appears poised for World War III! All of the music for the eventual soundtrack is a compilation from the bands/musicans with Dayton, Ohio connections, whether they were born there, the band formed, or got their first big following/break there. This compilation is likely to result as one of the best for film to date. Many of the participating actors for "She" roles are also among the amazing musical talent appearing in the film. Dayton Ohio: "Midwest Music Mecca", also backdrop to most "She" settings, and perhaps the music world's best kept secret as the birthplace of music legends, both mainstream and off-the-grid alternative, to up-and-coming (and only temporarily obscure) musicians: from old-school funk (Ohio Players/ Heatwave); old and new school punk (Toxic Reasons/ Accidently on Purpose); alt-rock mindblowers (Guided by Voices/ Brainiac) to modern alternative masterminds (The Sailing/ Ruckus Roboticus). Dayton, Ohio has a rich music heritage, and an influential legacy- and much of this incredible musical array is exclusively featured on the "She" soundtrack.
